Did you know that the first use of the word robot was in the 1920 play R.U.R.: Rossum’s Universal Robots by Czech writer Karel Čapek. In the play, the robots overthrow their human creators.
Earl is a Junior at CU Boulder pursuing a degree in Computer Science. Earl’s passions are robotics, simulation and artificial inteligence. He leads the Robotic USV group at CU Boulder which develops USVs(Unmanned Surface Vehicles) for the anuual robotics challange RoboBoat.
It is a long established fact that as technology progresses, so too does the scope of what is considered robotics. Today, we’re seeing an evolved and expanded definition of robotics that includes the development, creation and use of bots that explore Earth’s harshest conditions, robots that assist law-enforcement and even robots that assist in almost every facet of healthcare.
